Remarkable Changes In Meghan & Harry’s Lives As They Retired From Royal Duty and Royal Life
The last day of March 2020 marked the final day of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as official working members of the Royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have announced their plans to build a new life in North America with their 1-year old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
While Prince Harry will always remain Prince of the Monarchy, there are some remarkable and interesting ways that Meghan and Harry’s lives are changing.
1. Farewell To Royal Highness Titles
Meghan and Harry will not retain their “His and Her Royal Highness” titles. These are titles are only extended as part of the privilege of being working members of the royal family.
Prince Harry will retain the sixth position in the royal line of succession. His position will be right behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George (6), Princess Charlotte (4) and Prince Louis (1).
Prince Harry will also continue to bear his military title as Major, Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader for a number of years in the future.
2. End of the Royal Title and the Brand representation.
Meghan and Harry’s initial plans indicated that they would continue their association and usage of the Sussex Royal Brand.
However, it appears that Queen Elizabeth has asked the young family to refrain from using the word and the brand “Royal” in association with the couple’s future philanthropic and business ventures including their non-profile, social media platforms such as Instagram, or their personal brand website.
